The top plate for Sony PXW-FX9 comes with rod support in standard optical height,  numerous 3/8″ & 1/4″ fastening points with ARRI anti-twist safeguard, recess for further  use of the electronic FX9 handle and an optical marker for attaching a measuring tape.

Original Sony handle can be reinstalled by removing the center section of the top plate. Communication between the handle and the Sony body is possible by using just the U shaped portion of the top plate. The Sony XDCA-FX9 Extension Unit can also be attached to the rear of the camera without obstruction.
