Every filmmaker needs a pair or two of 15mm rods at some point. Their usage is more versatile than it first comes to mind. First of, the 15mm rods are most commonly use to attache the lens support, which is essential with sizable lenses. Secondly, 15mm rods can attach all kinds of peripheral accessories by using an applicable adapter, often equipped with the rod clamp. The front of the rig usually needs rods for attaching the matte box, side arms, a follow focus or a FIZ system. The rods at the back of the filming rig can be utilized to attach a battery or a 15mm rod specific shoulder support.
