MicroWheel Stage 1 Portable Camera Slider combines 4 MicroWheels and 1 RigPlate with the appropriate mounting hardware for use together.RigWheels portable camera slider kits and parts are designed for easy expansion and and multifunction use. This camera slider carriage allows you to operate on smooth flat surfaces (such as a counter top or glass table) as well as on pipe as shown below. MicroWheel camera slider wheels will run on any smooth pipe with an outside diameter between 1″ & 2″.In addition to the variety of styles of movement you can achieve with this kit, you always have the ability to increase functionality by adding different parts. For example, you can add 2 RigAxels with inline wheels to configure RigSkate. Add a second RigPlate or a RigAxel with MircoWheels and you can configure a captive rail camera dolly.MicroWheels are mounted to the RigPlate with common 5/16″ OR 8mm bolts. As often as possible, common parts and hardware are used in Rigwheels products to give customers the ability to modify and come up with different configurations.
This portable camera slider travels extremely well. With the MicroWheels removed, the flat 5/16″ thick RigPlate can fit in many common places like a laptop pocket. The 4 MicroWheels pack into their included travel bag are about the size of a portable hard drive.
Pipe and tube for track can be found at most any hardware store. PVC pipe works well for applications when the pipe will be on the ground or a solid surface. Aluminum and steel pipe/tube are recommended for suspended camera dolly applications.

RigWheels designs everything with versatility in mind and the RigPlate camera cheese plate delivers. The first function is to serve as a camera mounting plate to attach MicroWheels to. One RigPlate and one set of MicroWheels provides you with smooth movement as a table-top / skater dolly that you can use on any smooth hard surface.Using Rigwheels RigPlate as a pipe dolly gives you scalable slider / dolly option that is tailored for the new generation of mid-size and compact cameras. Attaching two RigPlates together creates a captive-rail camera carriage that allows secure camera movement at any angle. Using RigPlate in conjunction with RigAxels adds even more capability to this simple affordable system with a more traditional table-top dolly setup and a robust pipe-dolly option.RigPlate is a great camera support platform and it can be used for much more than camera movement. With the amount and variety of mounting points there are an endless variety of accessories that can be attached. There are (14) 1/4-20 and (4) 3/8-16 threaded holes (industry standard sizes) in addition to four 5/16” and five 3/8” pass through holes.
A RigPlate can be turned into a rock-solid suction mount by adding A-Cups, B-Cups or C-Cups.

The captive carriage configuration makes your camera much more secure by locking it onto the rails. This setup also allows you to position the carriage/rails at any angle; just the trick for vertical or slanted moves. This kit offers a similar captive rail option to the MicroWheel Stage 3 carriage at a lower price but is not as suitable for handling vertical and angled movement.
