Wooden Camera D-Box (Weapon, Power Distribution Portion Only) is for owners of Cable-less V-Mount, Blueshape, of Gold Mount that want to add power distribution, standardized remote start/stop, and hot swap abilities to their RED DSMC2 camera. The completed Wooden Camera D-Box assembly is tool-less for installation and utilizes our Cable-less interface which attaches directly to the back of the camera body, Base Expander Module, REDVolt Expander Module, and the OffHollywood O-Mods.

Connectors on the D-Box are contoured to match the Expander Modules' which allow for all cables to be installed with no collisions. The module communicates with the camera and allows any ARRI standard start/stop trigger to be used with the 3pin Fischer port. The DC input on the D-Box is the same as the camera's LEMO allowing for an AC power supply or external power plate to be connected to power accessories and camera during a battery change. When both battery and DC input are utilized, the D-Box defaults to the DC input, leaving the battery fully charged.

When combined with V-Mount or Gold Mount plate, one D-Tap is obscured by the right side power outputs. Inside the D-Box is a 10A fuse and replacement fuses are included.

The assembly will attach without tools directly to the back of the RED Weapon / RED Scarlet-W / RED Epic-W / RED Raven camera, Base Expander Module, REDVolt Expander Module, and some third party modules like OMODs. This system can be converted between high and low modes. High mode is where the battery plate sits above the back of the camera. Low mode is where the plate is configured to be flush with the top of the camera body leaving batteries in a very compact configuration. An important note is that the RED DSMC2 top handle will clear RED Brick batteries when our Cable-less V-Mount plate is configured in low mode. The Cable-less V-Mount will communicate percentage or voltage data to the camera's LCD display. Intelligent batteries like RED Bricks, Blueshape, Switronix, PAG, and other batteries utilizing SMBUS or reversed SMBUS will allow for the module to communicate percentage data and estimated run time.
